Greetings Warrior:
Hello, hello, hello, praying your week has been a true blessing to you. The Adventurous Dynamic Duo is back, and we are reflecting on our lights. We know everyday life brings many challenges, but how are we all living? Are we letting our lights shine?
The Adventurous Dynamic Duo grew up with a song entitled, “This Little Light Of Mine.” Written by Harry Dixon Loes and documented by John Lomax in 1939. Here are the lyrics:

It's so funny, because as we look back and think about when we were actually singing this song - as kids, we didn't really know the true meaning of the lyrics. For example, Jackie and her sisters were invited to sing this song at their mother's friends' Teas (little gatherings). The Dotson Sisters would get all dressed up and sing in front of 20-30 guests. Her parents would be so proud of them and so were they, but they didn't really know the meaning behind the words. The lyrics are so, so, so, powerful, and this is exactly how Sidney and I attempt to live our lives now! Warriors, the Light is the Lord, the Jesus, inside of us. As we walk and talk like Him, letting the Holy Spirit, who lives inside of us, lead us; our Lights really shine. The song speaks of hiding "it" (our light) under a bushel, and that is the darkness of the world. Well, Warriors: We must stand out and look/be different from the rest of the world. As we are on this journey called life, we don't want to look/be like everyone else - just trying to fit in. We want to be examples for Jesus Christ, letting the lost souls know how great it is to have Jesus in our lives and how good He is to us. So, No! We will not hide our lights!!!! The last verse of the song is talking about Satan wanting to blow out our lights, and Warriors, y'all know how He wants to block our blessings daily and discourage us constantly. But, No! We will not let him have his way. We must stand on God's word, be encouraged, and most definitely, let our lights shine.
Here are ways we can let our lights shine in this dark world:
1. Smile, showing love and goodness to all we encounter.
2. Have a positive attitude.
3. Speak kind words all times.
4. Pray! Pray! Pray!
5. Praise God!
6. Have a giving heart!
7. Spend quality time with God daily.
8. Speak truth, having a honorable and kind spirit.
9. Lead by example.
10. Trust God, no matter what.
Your Adventurous Dynamic Duo is working on living for God, each and every day. We are challenged with situations, conditions, people, and just daily life. But...as long as we keep our eyes on the prize of the high calling (Jesus the Christ), we have the power inside of us, to win!!! And, we know, Warriors, you will win too! You see, as the Duo travels and adventures monthly, we trust and live for God. We are rebuking all spirits trying to stop us and you from the mission in which God has ordained us to do. Keep pushing! Keep moving! Keep growing! Keep evolving! It is the Light inside of us. Live your life intentionally. The sky is the limit. Don't stop!
Warriors, this was just another quick word for you. We are all about encouraging and empowering you to LIVE with intention. Do not hide your light under a bushel. AND, don't you dare let Satan blow your light out. God has a purpose and plan for you. Be the Light!!!!
